We compared the average door-to-provider wait times for patients from hospitals nationwide, apples to apples. After waiting from the comfort of home, 8 out of 10 patients using GetCareNow wait less than 15 minutes in the ER waiting room before seeing a health care provider. Less than 18 percent of general ER visitors nationwide are seen within that time frame, and the national door-to-provider average wait time is approximately 90 minutes, according to data found in the 2019 Harvard Business Review.

What we found with the adoption of the Steer platform is we were able to quickly realize efficiencies on getting provider engagement, staff engagement, and patient engagement. This led to the opportunity to focus on those tasks that digital solutions can’t solve. As a result, our patients are now prepped better for their visits.

Our priority is to provide patients with an exceptional experience, and that includes the ability for patients to schedule an appointment online and wait safely at home. We know life is busy, and our team of caregivers in the emergency room is honored to ease the stress involved in these situations. We always strive to deliver the very best care.

We've renewed emphasis on recruitment, retention, and creating an environment of inclusion and accountability. But we also know we have to leverage technology where applicable. Steer supported us in those efforts, to automate and create workflows that take away burden on staff who are already limited and overwhelmed.

Patients are far more comfortable. Offices are far more comfortable. We began to look at this technology a number of years ago, and there was a lot of resistance because we do feel that there is definitely a human component required in healthcare delivery. But the majority of the heavy lifting, the hard work, the scheduling, the return of phone calls, benefits, and all the clerical stuff does not require direct physician care, nursing care, or even the care of allied health professionals. It really can be done through a well-designed digital platform like Steer Health.

I like how easy it is to see if patients have confirmed their appointments. The ability to text in real-time without disturbing PTS day. I also like the referral campaign feature. Steer allows us to interact with patients in a way that saves the patient time and allows our office to get our questions answered sooner than a phone call would so that we can respond to patient requests as fast as possible.

Steer has brought an efficient customer support service no matter how many requests our team may have, allowing us to solve many issues of each patient in a personalized way!

We switched to Steer Health from PatientPop because we needed to update our website, and we also wanted more control over our own site. There is currently better support in the Steer team. We are happy with the new design and the ability to make some minor edits ourselves which saves time.

If I'm a consumer, I want an Amazon-like experience, where I can go online and schedule my appointment or get my results or pay my bill – resolve all of those things immediately. And that's what we've been able to do with this partnership with Steer Health.
